Unit 2-
Software architecture registers and signals, Classification of instruction, Instruction set, addressing modes, Assembly Language Programming and Debugging, Programming Technique, instruction Format and timing.  
Unit 3-
Advance Assembly Language Programming, Counter and time delay; types of Interrupt and their uses, RST instructions and their uses, 8259 programmable interrupt controller; Macros, subroutine; Stack- implementation and uses with examples; Memory interfacing.
Unit 4-

4CS6.1 ANALOG & DIGITAL COMMUNICATION (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech)

AMPLITUDE MODULATION: Frequency translation, Recovery of base band signal, Spectrum & power relations in AM systems. Methods of generation & demodulation of AM-DSB, AM-DSB/SC and AM-SSB signals. Modulation & detector circuits for AM systems. AM transmitters & receivers.
Unit 2-
FREQUENCY MODULATION : Phase & freq. modulation & their relationship, Spectrum & band width of a sinusoidally modulated FM signal, phasor diagram, Narrow band & wide band FM. Generation & demodulation of FM signals. FM transmitters & receivers. Comparison of AM, FM & PM. Pre emphasis & deemphasis. Threshold in FM, PLL demodulator.
Unit 3-
PCM & DELTA MODULATION SYSTEMS : Uniform and Non-uniform quantization. PCM and delta modulation, Signal to quantization noise ratio in PCM and delta modulation. DPCM, ADM, T1 Carrier System, Matched filter detection. Error probability in PCM system.
Unit 4-
BASE BAND TRANSMISSION: Line coding(RZ,NRZ): Polar, Bipolar, Manchester, AMI. Inter symbol interference, Pulse shaping, Nyquist criterion, Raised cosine spectrum. PULSE ANALOG MODULATION: Practical aspects of sampling: Natural and flat top sampling. PAM, PWM, PPM modulation and demodulation methods, PAMTDM.
Unit 5-
DIGITAL MODULATION TECHNIQUES : Geometric interpretation of signals, Orthogonalization. ASK, BPSK, BFSK, QPSK, MSK modulation techniques and Coherent detection of these techniques. Calculation of error probabilities.

4CS6.2 LINEAR INTEGRATED CIRCUITS (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech)   
Unit 1-
OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS: Basic differential amplifier analysis, Single ended and double ended configurations ,Op-amp configurations with feedback, Op-amp parameters, Inverting and Non- Inverting configuration, Comparators, Adder.
Unit 2-  
OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER APPLICATIONS: Integrator, Differentiator, Voltage to frequency & Frequency to voltage converters. Oscillators: Phase shift, Wien bridge, Quadrature, square wave, triangular wave, sawtooth oscillators. Voltage controlled oscillators.
Unit 3-
ACTIVE FILTERS: Low pass, high pass, band pass and band reject filters,All pass filter, Switched capacitor filter, Butterworth filter design, Chebyshev Filter design.
Unit 4-
PHASE-LOCKED LOOPS: Operating Principles of PLL, Linear Model of PLL, Lock range, Capture range, Applications of PLL as FM detector, FSK demodulator, AM detector, frequency translator, phase shifter, tracking filter, signal synchronizer and frequency synthesizer, Building blocks of PLL, LM 565 PLL.
Unit 5-  
LINEAR IC’s: Four quadrant multiplier & its applications, Basic blocks of linear IC voltage regulators, Three terminal voltage regulators, Positive and negative voltage regulators. The 555 timer as astable and monostable multivibrators. Zero crossing detector, Schmitt trigger.

4CS6.3 LOGIC AND FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech) 
Unit 1-
PROPOSITIONS AND PREDICATES: Evaluation of constant propositions, Evaluation of proposition in a state. Precedence rules for operators, Tautologies, Propositions a sets of states and Transforming English to propositional form. Introduction to first-order predicate logic, Quantifiers and Reasoning. 
Unit 2-  
LOGIC PROGRAMMING USING PROLOG: Constants, Goals and Clauses, Facts, Rules, Semantics, Rules and Conjunction, Rules and Disjunction, Search strategy, Queries.
Unit 3-  
ADVANCED LOGIC PROGRAMMING USING PROLOG: - Unification, Recursion, Lists, Cut operator, and Sorting. Data structures, Text strings, Searching state space, Operators and their precedence, and Parsing in Prolog.
Unit 4- 
FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING: Introduction to lambda calculus-Syntax and semantics, Computability and correctness, Lazy and Eager Evaluation Strategies, comparison of functional and imperative languages.
Unit 5-
FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING USING HASKELL: Introduction, lists, Userdefined data types, type classes, and arrays in Haskell. Input/Ouput in Haskell - type classes IO and Monad, Simple applications/programs in Haskell.

4CS7 MICROPROCESSOR LAB (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech)  
  1. Add the contents of memory locations XX00 &XX01 & place the result in memory location XX02. 
  2. Add the 16 bit numbers stored in memory location & store the result in another memory location. 
  3. Transfer a block of data from memory location XX00 to another memory location XX00 in forward & reverse order.
  4. Write a program to Swap two blocks of data stored in memory. 
  5. Write a program to find the square of a number. 
  6. Write a main program & a conversion subroutine to convert Binary to its equivalent BCD.
  7. Write a program to find largest & smallest number from a given array.
  8. Write a program to Sort an array in ascending & descending order.  
  9. Write a program to multiply two 8 bit numbers whose result is 16 bit.
  10. Write a program of division of two 8 bit numbers.
  11. Generate square wave from SOD pin of 8085 & observe on CRO.
  12. Write a program to perform traffic light control operation.
  13. Write a program to control the speed of a motor. 
 4CS8 COMMUNICATION LAB (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech)
  1. Harmonic analysis of a square wave of modulated waveform Observe the amplitude modulated waveform and measures modulation index. Demodulation of the AM signal 
  2. To modulate a high frequency carrier with sinusoidal signal to obtain FM signal. Demodulation of the FM signal
  3. To observe the following on a transmission line demonstrator kit : i. The propagation of pulse in non-reflecting Transmission line. ii. The effect of losses in Transmission line. iii. The resonance characteristics of al half wavelength long x-mission line.
  4. To study and observe the operation of a super heterodyne receiver
  5. To modulate a pulse carrier with sinusoidal signal to obtain PWM signal and demodulate it.
  6. To modulate a pulse carrier with sinusoidal signal to obtain PPM signal and demodulate it
  7. To observe pulse amplitude modulated waveform and its demodulation.
  8. To observe the operation of a PCM encoder and decoder. To consider reason for using digital signal x-missions of analog signals. 
  9. Produce ASK signals, with and without carrier suppression. Examine the different processes required for demodulation in the two cases 
  10. To observe the FSK wave forms and demodulate the FSK signals based on the properties of (a) tuned circuits (b) on PI.L. 
  11. To study & observe the amplitude response of automatic gain controller (AGC ). 
4CS9 ADVANCE OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING. (Common to Comp. Engg. & Info. Tech)    
  1. Write a C++ Object Oriented Code for Huffman Coding & Decoding. The code must have implementation of Binary tree, binary Search, Scanning of Input Stream, Generation of Code. The input Stream and codes may be stored in files.
  2. Write a C++ Object Oriented Code for representing a graph using adjacency list. Perform depth first and breadth first search starting from any node. Also find the shortest path between single sources all destinations. Also carry out topological sorting. 
  3. Create a C++ template for matrix. Include procedures for multiplication of 2 matrices. Use the same class for multiplication of more than two matrices. 
  4. Create a C++ class for implementation of AVL tree to store a symbol table. 
  5. Create a new string class say NewString. Define functions as defined in the system string class.

Studies.....

"Studies", most irritating word for for a child fond of playing, eating, sports, and other activities.

So, the question comes, What really "study" mean???

Most of the students settle down for studies, and don't even know what to do? how to do???
For many students study means to abandon their interesting activities for a time and open the book and start studying it...
Well, does it really mean this??
 

If we go on the technical meaning of "Study", it is:
"The devotion of time and attention to gain knowledge of an academic subject, especially by means of book."
                                   or 
a detailed investigation and analysis of a subject or situation"

Well, it's quite awkward and hard to understand and follow these terms,(especially for a student)
In this article I'm talking about average and below average students, not at all about above average students,(they are totally out of mind)

I think "studies" are the heaviest burden a child would have ever bared if he/she don't know how to handle it.
Most of the people suggest to make a perfect time table of your daily routine and follow it.
People also suggest, "early to bed and early to rise" makes your mind fresh and fit for study.

But.. my point of view is totally different from it.
ask yourself some questions:
Do you have control on your dreams?
Do you every time know what will be your future if you take this step?
Do you know what sort of mood the examiner will have while checking your papers?
I think anyone hardly knows this.
Then why put boundaries on our study time.
  • there should be no time limit on studies
  • there should not be any fixed time for studies,one should when he/she wants.
  • the philosophy of early to bed and early to rise don't fits to today's world
  • Start studying whenever your minds wishes to do it whether it's 2:30 am.

Versions of HTML

Well we all have been using HTML of diff versions somewhere in our everyday life weather its in low powered pones or super powered smart phones and tables and many more

Through all this HTML
has gone through many changes which we will discuss today

Well so far there are currently five versions of HTML

Let's discuss about each of them in brief

HTML 1.0 (1989-1994)

This was the first ever version of HTML ever released.


  • supported inline images and text controls
  • Very limited styling was possible
  • So we can say that HTML 1.0 lacked due to its styling limitations. Every page made looked similar with same background and font.This version was only supported by Lynx and mosaic. 

    HTML 2.0(1995)

    This was considerably improved version


    • supported more browsers


    • supported forms with text boxes and option buttons


    • page background can be changed


    • tables were also supported
    • HTML 3.20(1997)



      • supperted creating tables and expanded options for formm elements
      • methamatical equations now were possible to be included in web pages

          HTML5 is a core technology markup language of the Internet used for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web. As of October 2014 this is the final and complete fifth revision of the HTML standard of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The previous version, HTML 4, was standardised in 1997.

            Elders have said that this world is based on two things:

            2. Understanding

            But the major problem is that both of these two things are inter dependent

            Trust comes when you understand that person
            And you will only try to understand a person if and only if you have trust in him/her.
            In today's fast running world, no one have time to invest it to understand someone.
            Children don't understand their parents, parents don't understand thoughts and living mechanism of their modern society based children.
            True friendships are disappearing.
            Relationships are becoming biased. A perfect happy joint families are rare to find.
            Relationships are dominated under the weight of workload, personal space, selfishness, and other such things.
            It seems that with this modernising world and generation gap, relationships are coming to an end.
            Relationships are demanding time, love, trust and understanding.
            And it is our responsibility to maintain it so that we can pass it on to our upcoming generation

            World's first Laptop...

            Toshiba launched the Toshiba T1100 in 1985, and has subsequently described it as "the world's first mass-market laptop computer". It did not have a hard drive, and ran entirely from floppy disks. The CPU was a 4.77 MHz Intel 80C88, a variation of the popular Intel 8088, and the display was a monochrome, text-only 640x200 LCD. It was followed in 1987 by the T1000 and T1200. Although limited floppy-based DOS machines, with the operating system stored in ROM, the Toshiba models were small and light enough to be carried in a backpack, and could be run from lead-acid batteries. They also introduced the now-standard "resume" feature to DOS-based machines: the computer could be paused between sessions without having to be restarted each time.


            World's first android phone...

            The world’s first Android phone was the HTC Dream – it came to the market in October 2008 as the T-Mobile G1 in the USA and, when signing a two-year service agreement, sold for $179.Dream was the first commercially released device to use the Linux-based Android operating system, which was purchased and further developed by Google and the Open Handset Alliance to create an open competitor to other major smartphone platforms of the time, such as Symbian operating system, BlackBerry OS, and iOS.



            World's first Operating system...



            Well, there are many school of thoughts about who was the first to create the first operating system. 

            They ranged from: 

            1) DOS (actually QDOS 0.10 - Quick and Dirty Operating System) originally by Seattle Computer (later acquired by M$). 
            2) CP/M, for Control Processor Monitor (was considered the first operating system for a personal computer) by Gary Kildall of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California 
            3) IBM 

            Many argue it was CP/M was the first. The debates continues till today. 



            Worlds first Television set...
            John Logie Baird FRSE  14 August 1888 – 14 June 1946) was a Scottish engineer, innovator and inventor of the world's first mechanical television; the first publicly demonstrated colour television system; and the first purely electronic colour television picture tube. Baird's early technological successes and his role in the practical introduction of broadcast television for home entertainment have earned him a prominent place in television's history.


            World's first ATM...


            It might just be the best idea to come to a man in the bathtub since Archimedes' time. While taking a soak, inventor John Shepherd-Barron devised what is hailed as the world's first automatic teller machine, although his claim to the title is a matter of dispute . He pitched the device to the British bank Barclay. It accepted immediately, and the first model was built and installed in London in 1967. Though the machine used PIN (personal identification number) codes, a concept Shepherd-Barron also claims to have invented, it was dependent on checks impregnated with the (slightly) radioactive isotope carbon 14 to initiate a withdrawal, as the magnetic coding for ATM cards had not yet been developed. One other difference from its ubiquitous modern counterpart: it didn't charge a fee.


            World's first camera with film(paper films)...

            The use of photographic film was pioneered by George Eastman, who started manufacturing paper film in 1885 before switching to celluloid in 1889. His first camera, which he called the "Kodak," was first offered for sale in 1888. It was a very simple box camera with a fixed-focus lens and single shutter speed, which along with its relatively low price appealed to the average consumer. The Kodak came pre-loaded with enough film for 100 exposures and needed to be sent back to the factory for processing and reloading when the roll was finished. By the end of the 19th century Eastman had expanded his lineup to several models including both box and folding cameras.
